The AHA Club Only Comp style for this go-round are Heffe’s – All of Category 15 – which would be Weizen, Dunkelweizen, Weizenbock and Roggenbiers. Entries are due November 25 – so we should probably do our sampling and pick our entry.
Meeting Beer styles, Winter Warmers and Christmas Beers
Come in early and look through the fine selection of beer’s that Pat has.
As usual we have some chairs but bring a chair and your favorite beverage to share.

The really big ones 1.100+ should have already been brewed several months or a year ago, but we can brew the 1.075 now
For the 1.060 gravity beers we can do them close to Thanksgiving
The 1.050 beers can be brewed around Christmas and New Years
The Wee ones can be brewed in January

Change of venue for the meeting, Brad’s House. The club bar is already over at Brad’s with a good selection of beer hooked up. I assume there is probably some left overs they need help getting rid of too. Lets discuss future brew-ins, Christmas Party Location, Celtic Updates, and anything else you want to talk about while drinking a good beer.
Knights:
The annual club brew in is set for Saturday, Oct 8th. Will be hosted by The Woogie, Duke, Daisy and their people – Brad & Kim. We’ll get started first thing in the morning – whatever time that be for you – we’ll make it 8:00 am for us.
We will be brewing a big batch – come out with somewhere around 50 gal to split up for people to then boil on their own – adding their touch of hops and whatever else you’d like to put in there. Mike Haws will describe the base beer, right Mike?
We need to get a list circulating if you want to bring something – that way we don’t end up with a dozen different potato salads and nothing else. We will smoke a brisket and pulled pork as usual. We’ll set up the club tent as the food tent – unless it looks like rain and we need that as brewing shelter.
We will also have Mike’s (or the club’s) 12 head tap “portable” bar – so we’ll need some kegs. We did not get around to discussing if the club will/could order a couple commercial kegs from Pat – we need to get that organized.
Don’t forget to bring entries for AHA Club Only Competition if you have them. We will choose one entry and get it shipped the following week.

Dear Fellow BJCP Judge,
I want to invite you to the 18th Bay Area Mashtronauts Lunar Rendezbrew on Saturday, August 6th, 2011. However, we need your help before Lunar Rendezbrew XVIII will take place. We are anticipating over 600 entries this year. You can see there are going to be many flights to judge; especially in the first round. Our standard is to have at least one BJCP certified judge at each table during each round of judging. We need your help. The more certified judges we have in each round, the more flights we can judge.
The first round of judging will begin on Saturday, the 16th of July, 2011 at the Seabrook Community Center, 1210 Anders Ave, Seabrook, Texas. The judging starts at 9:00 AM. We will furnish lunch and refreshments for all participants. Here is a map:

The second round will be on Sunday the 24th of July, 2011. It will be at the St. Arnold Brewery, 2000 Lyons Avenue, Houston, Texas. The judging will begin at 9:00 AM.
