Judge registration starts at 11 AM.

This is a national contest  sponsored by the American Home brewers Association and hosted by KOBB. Homebrew clubs from almost every state in the union have submitted some 80 entries – one entry per club – for this contest.  This lineup no doubt consists of some of the very best brews these clubs have to offer. 

   Mike Porter has done all the leg-work and coordination for the contest. All we have to do is show up and help judge a single flight of Scottish Ale. The AHA is even footing lunch.   Come out and support your club and enjoy some great beers, free pizza, and beer camaraderie.

The Knights of the Brown Bottle cordially invite you to come play with us this weekend at the Texas Scottish Festival!

Schedules have changed this year and the TX Scottish Festival was moved up by a month.

The Celtic Competition, which has been associated with the Festival since medieval times, also made the change, so we can continue our presence there.

All of the hard work has been completed, and we truly, truly appreciate everyone who helped us judge this year. We had somewhere around 370 entries – small in comparison to the Bluebonnet – but still an enormous task. Thank you again.

Now comes the FUN!!

The Texas Scottish Festival is THIS weekend – same place – Maverick Stadium at UTA. KOBB will have our tent in the same place – packed with all of the leftover entries. Awards for the Celtic Brew Off will commence after the clan parade on Saturday – at approximately 1:30pm with the Master of Awards and All Things Ceremonious the Honorable Sir Steve of Wesstrom presiding.

As always, everyone is welcome to come out, enjoy the day, enjoy the beers and friendship of our fellow brewers. Come pour a beer and enjoy yourself!

We’re looking forward to a great weekend of fun and homebrew!!

Judges Needed:  March 10 and 11 –  9AM Coors Distribution off I-35W

The Bluebonnet Brew-off is one of the largest single site homebrew competitions in the United States. It is the first leg of the Lone Star Circuit of homebrew competitions.

The Bluebonnet Brew-off is both AHA and BJCP sanctioned as well as an MCAB Qualifying Event.
